Residents of Uralsk have been experiencing water shortages since last year. This was facilitated by the increase in the population in the regional center and the decrease in the level of the Ural River in recent years.

Especially in the summer, residents of the city experience problems with drinking water. At the meeting on this issue, the governor of the region Gali Eskaliyev instructed to consider a new approach to providing the population with drinking water. To date, a plan has been developed and funds are provided to solve this problem.

On Tuesday, Gali Iskaliyev visited the Taskalinsky group water supply facility, where he inspected the work on the repair of the city's sewer system. Then, a meeting was held in Batys Su Arnasy LLP with the participation of the head of the region, where projects to provide the city's population with drinking water were discussed.

- Several meetings were held on the issue of providing the city of Uralsk with drinking water in the summer. Appropriate measures are being taken to further prevent the repetition of existing shortcomings in this area, and to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the population in the future. The city of Uralsk now receives drinking water from two sources – a water treatment plant on the Ural River and an underground water treatment plant near the village of Trekino. The Ural plant was launched in 1963 and has a capacity of 30 thousand cubic meters of water per day. And the installation of an underground water source in the village of Trekino-since 1973. There we get 26 thousand cubic meters of water per day. Due to the growth of the northern zone of the regional center and the beginning of construction of the Akzhaik microdistrict, water consumption in the city will increase by 25 thousand cubic meters in the near future, " said the Mayor of Uralsk Abat Shynybekov.

According to the head of the city, residents of the city consume 70 thousand cubic meters of water per day. Of these, 30 thousand cubic meters are occupied by the Ural River, 28 600 meters-underground water sources. And the insufficient amount of drinking water is 11,400 cubic meters. On average, for three years, water scarcity is strongly observed in June-July, August. In order to eliminate this need, it is planned to additionally dig six wells from the Ural underground sources. The documents of this project for the total amount of 466 million tenge have passed the state examination. In May of this year, the terms of the competition will be finalized and the contracting companies will be identified. A tender was also announced for the development of five additional wells from an underground water source in the village of Trekino with 30 wells. And 18 wells pumping water from the Ural underground source are not working at full capacity today. If you need to extract 65 thousand cubic meters of water from them per day, today the daily figure is only 22 thousand cubic meters. Of the 18 wells named, two were repaired in December last year. A tender has been announced for the repair of the remaining 16 wells. With the full implementation of these works, an additional 20 thousand cubic meters of water per day will be received. A competition has also been announced for new water pumps to be installed in the same wells. 116 million tenge was allocated for this purpose.

- An order was given for the reception of the Taskalinsky group water supply system into the communal property. In December last year, this institution was acquired in the municipal property of the region. At the beginning of the year, the institution was transferred to the trust management of the institution "Kazvodkhoz". Through this water pipeline to the village of Zashagan, an additional one thousand cubic meters of water was obtained. For this purpose, one well was dug last year. In May of this year, it is planned to dig an additional two wells. If these works are carried out, the amount of water supplied to the village of Zachagansk will reach 2.5 thousand tons. cubic meters per day. In addition, the reconstruction of the Taskalinsky group water supply system is required. A state competition has also been announced for these works. In May, the contractor company will be determined, and the modernization will be completed by the end of the year. Here, work will be carried out on the reconstruction of the Balagan-Zachagansk, Peremetny - Balagan water pipes, the reconstruction of two water intakes, the development of 15 additional water wells, " the head of the city said.

In his report, the mayor of the city also focused on the project of saving water consumption. In this direction, car washes are provided in the city. It is established that there are 70 car washes in the city, of which only three purify and reuse water for car washing. After the inspection, eight car washes installed water treatment devices. The rest of the entrepreneurs are given comments. 5206 individuals and 218 legal entities were checked for supervision of the effective use of drinking water. Among them are 27 saunas, 70 car washes, 84 catering establishments and 37 production facilities. As a result of the inspection, 76 facts of inefficient use of water were revealed, 47 of them were restored. 50 facts of using water without a meter were revealed. Also, 39 legal entities were allocated 22.7 million tenge, 97 individuals in the amount of 25.5 million tenge were fined.

In order to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the city of Uralsk, we have done a number of works. This summer, citizens should not experience a shortage of water. To do this, it is necessary to perform the work started in a timely and high-quality manner. It is also necessary to strictly control the misuse of water. Water from restaurants and car washes clogs and disables the sewers. We must strictly require entrepreneurs to install devices for filtering and capturing solid waste and oils.
