On Saturday, December 26, the mayor of Uralsk Abat Shynybekov answered the questions of local journalists at the Otbasy family center, telling about the work done over the past year. At the end, the mayor presented all participants with commemorative badges depicting the emblem of Uralsk and the book "Uralsk during the great Patriotic war".

The range of topics touched upon by the head of our city was very diverse. This is the construction of new housing for families of oral state, the new district "Akzhaiyk", innovations in the procedure of tenders for landscaping, lighting the city streets, installing traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, maintenance of fountains, repair of city collector, security of the Urals drinking water, renovation of the bus fleet, street cleaning, social assistance to the population and businesses during a pandemic, and much more. The mayor of Uralsk provided comprehensive answers to all questions.

-The outgoing year turned out to be quite difficult around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, which did not bypass us, - said Abat Shynybekov. – On the eve of the coming 2021, I can say with confidence that despite many difficulties, especially in ensuring the health and life support of citizens, we were able to overcome them thanks to our common dedication and solidarity. Covid, of course, has not yet retreated, but according to the decision of the government of the country, a lot of work was determined on the ground, which allowed to preserve the well-being of the population. During the period of quarantine measures, the Urals behaved decently. I think that Uralsk and its residents can be proud of the fact that we are now being set as an example to others in terms of cleanliness, improvement of the city and self-awareness of the population.

According to the mayor, in 2020, according to the state program "Nurly Zher", the construction of seven new apartment buildings with a total area of almost 65 thousand square meters was completed. Of these, two houses, where there are 414 apartments, will be provided to those on the waiting list who are in urgent need of housing. The first 198-apartment building in the village of Zachagansk has already been commissioned and another 216-apartment building is going to be commissioned by the New year.</p> <p style="text-align:

- If we compare, in 2019 in Uralsk, only one house for 216 apartments was commissioned for the waiting list of rental housing, this year 414 families will receive housing, which is twice as much, - said Abat Shynybekov. And that's not counting housing program "Bakytty Otbasy", which was used by 216 families from the waiting list, and those houses under the state program "Nurly jer", which were built by the credit Zhilstroysberbank of Kazakhstan.

During the conversation, the mayor of Uralsk said that he normally reacts to criticism in his address, which, in fact, is the engine of the working process in gorakimat, shared with whom he will celebrate the New year, and also named his favorite place in the city, where he likes to relax and recharge with positive natural energy.
