Safety is most important

Today, under the chairmanship of Deputy akim of the region Timurzhan Shakimov, a meeting of the Commission on road safety under the akimat of the West Kazakhstan region was held.

On the agenda was to discuss the results for the year 2020 as the number of accidents at the territory of the Western Kazakhstan region at the end of this year, security in the sphere of automobile transportation, availability of roads of national, regional and district level to work in autumn and winter 2020-2021 years, availability of the road network of the city of Uralsk for the autumn – winter period 2020-2021 years and the state of technical means of traffic regulation in the city of Uralsk, and also about the work done on the project "Safe roads in West Kazakhstan region".

Since the beginning of this year, 281 road accidents have been registered, as a result of which 71 people were killed, 339 received injuries of varying severity. Under the state control and supervision of the maintenance of the streets of the city of Uralsk and the regional center, 373 orders were issued to eliminate shortcomings in the maintenance of streets and technical means of traffic management, 40 officials were brought to justice. Due to the lack of funds, 84 prescriptions have not yet been implemented.

- In the course of interaction with local Executive bodies and road enterprises, based on the analysis of road accidents, 33 traffic light objects were installed and put into operation. Of these, 19 locations have call buttons for pedestrians. Also on the main street of the city on 29 uncontrolled pedestrian crossings in the night work lighting reflectors for solar batteries, and 15 unregulated pedestrian crossings installed a stand-alone device "Orao", - the head of the traffic Department-technical inspection of Management of administrative police of DP WKR Diamond Ganapiev.

Deputy head of the transport control Inspectorate for the WKO Momysh Yermekov reported on the measures taken to ensure safety in the field of road transport at the end of the year.

- One of the main competencies of the transport control Inspectorate is to control the passage of motor vehicles through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including compliance by domestic and foreign carriers with the permissible dimensions and weight parameters of motor vehicles established on the territory of the Republic. Since the beginning of the year, 8502 (14380) vehicles have been registered at mobile transport control posts, which is 40.9% lower than last year. For violations by carriers of requirements of the legislation in the field of road transport is composed of 1519 (1077) protocols on administrative offences and imposed a fine totalling 50 million 98 thousand tenge (2019 56 million 888 thousand), of which in relation to foreign carriers 1031 in the amount of 29 million 444,6 thousand tenge, in respect of domestic carriers 488, $ 20 653,9 million tenge, - said M. Ermekov.

Further, reviews were heard on the work done on the project "Safe roads of the West Kazakhstan region", on the state of technical means of traffic regulation and the readiness of the road network of the city of Uralsk for the autumn-winter period 2020-2021.
