Online meetings with religious scholars are held among students

On the initiative of the Center for the Study of Problems of Religions of the Department of Religious Affairs of the West Kazakhstan region, on October 14, 2020, information and explanatory work began among 1st year students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions.

The purpose of outreach work is to promote the principles of secularism, prevention of religious extremism and terrorism, the formation of immunity against the ideology of destructive religious movements, the promotion of national values, and the education of youth patriotism.

On October 14-16, 2020, in accordance with the plan, online meetings were organized with the 1st year students of the West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisova. The event was attended by the head of the department of the Department of Religious Affairs of the WKO A. Karatay, specialists in religious studies from the Center for the Study of Religious Issues N. Ubaev, A. Turarbekov, theologian of the information-analytical and resource center for work with youth in Uralsk O. Amreev. The meeting discussed the main directions of state policy in the field of religion, the principles of secularism, ways to counter the ideology of destructive religious movements, precautionary methods, features of traditional religions, Internet security, etc. The outreach work will last until November 6, 2020.
