17-year-old girl sold religious literature online in the city of Uralsk

Employees of the anti-extremism department of the police department of the West Kazakhstan region, together with the Department of Religious Affairs of the WKO, confiscated religious literature from a minor resident of the city of Uralsk. The girl distributed books through the social network Instagram. The fact of the realization of religious literature was revealed during the monitoring of social networks.

The books were confiscated, and an administrative protocol was drawn up against the girl's mother under Article 490 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On religious activity and religious associations."

The distribution of religious literature, materials of religious content and religious items is allowed only in designated places. That is, on the territory of religious buildings, in religious and spiritual educational institutions - madrassas, seminaries and others, as well as in special stationary premises.

For the sale of religious literature not in the established places, a fine is provided for individuals in the amount of 50 monthly calculation index (138,900 tenge), for legal entities - in the amount of 200 monthly calculation index (555,600 tenge) with a suspension of activities for a period of three months.
