At the first tremors of an earthquake
Turn off the gas, water, and electricity. If there is a small earthquake, it is better to wait it out where you are. In case of a stronger earthquake (the force of the tremors is five or higher), if you are in a room on the second floor and above, do not leave the room. Stand in a safe place near the inner wall, in the corner, in the doorway, by the support column, lie down in the bathtub. Get under the bed or table — they will protect you from falling objects and debris. Stay away from windows and heavy furniture. Do not use the elevator. If you are outdoors, move to an open area away from buildings and power lines, and do not approach broken electrical wires. Do not run along buildings or enter them.If you are in a car, stay in the open without leaving the car until the tremors stop.Remember: during an earthquake, soil movement is very rarely the cause of human casualties. The main causes of earthquake accidents are:
After the earthquake:
Provide first aid to those in need.Free the injured from the rubble, if this does not require additional equipment.
Turn on the radios. If possible, shut off the water supply, gas and turn off the power supply.Do not use an open flame.Be careful when leaving the room where you were during the earthquake.
Keep the radio on, listen to the signals of the services. Do not approach or enter obviously damaged buildings. Remember, there is no time to waste. Take the person to the hospital immediately.
How to act in a blockage
Breathe deeply, don't panic, focus on the most important things, try to survive at all costs, and believe that help will come. If possible, give yourself first aid. Try to adjust to the situation and look around, look for a possible way out. Try to determine where you are, if there are other people nearby: listen, raise your voice.
