Command and staff exercises "Spring-2025" have started in Atyrau

The Republican headquarters for coordination and management of training on emergency prevention is located in Atyrau. Preventive measures will be carried out here for two days.

The exercises, organized with the aim of practicing the actions of local executive bodies to manage forces and facilities, as well as interaction with operational management organizations during floods, were attended by Deputy Akim of the region Kairat Nurtayev, Vice Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kegen Tursynbayev, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies and volunteers, the Press Service of the Akim of the region reports.

Opening the exercises, Kairat Nurtayev spoke about the work carried out to prevent emergencies, and wished good luck to the work of the headquarters.

“On the part of the Akimat of the Atyrau region, special attention is paid to the material and technical equipment of the regional emergency management department. Fire stations have been put into operation, 30 units of machinery and equipment have been leased across the republic, as well as special equipment for spraying water up to the 24th floor. The Atyrau water rescue station has received a new building equipped with the necessary equipment. This is the result of joint work between the Akimat of the Atyrau Region and the Ministry of Emergency Situations within the framework of the instructions of the Head of State,” K. Nurtayev said.

Then the alarm siren sounded. The readiness of the alarm notification system in the region was tested with the signal "Attention everyone!"

Later, emergency rescue operations were carried out along the Zhaiyk River in the village of Besikti. The banks and dams were strengthened here. Residents of the village of Besikti were evacuated to the kindergarten "Kunshuak", and water was pumped out using trailer motor pumps. Actions were also practiced to rescue a person who tried to drive a car along the Ural River near the village and fell through the ice. As part of the command and staff exercises in the cities of Almaty, Shymkent, Almaty, Atyrau, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Mangystau, Turkistan and Zhetisu regions, practical actions of emergency rescue services and civil defense equipment to eliminate emergencies will be practiced over two days.

Last year, 590 km of dams were built along the Zhaiyk River, 49 culverts were erected on roads of national and regional significance. 7 km of the coastal zone was strengthened on sections of the rivers, dredging was carried out on 121 km.

1,510 people, 244 units of equipment, including floating craft and helicopters, were mobilized to combat the consequences of the floods.
