Head of the region Serik Shapkenov met with residents of Makat district

Today, the head of the region Serik Shapkenov met with residents of the Makat district. At the meeting, they discussed socio-economic indicators and the direction of further development of the district, the Press Service of the Akim of the region reports.

Serik Shapkenov made a report on the work done in Makat. The problem of dilapidated houses is relevant in the district. To solve it, 28 two-apartment houses (56 apartments) were purchased. Residents were resettled to 14 houses (28 apartments) in December, in February next year another 20 families will celebrate housewarming.

The head of the region also spoke about the work being done in the field of education.

“Two modern BINOM schools have opened in the regional center, construction of two more has begun. These works will be carried out in stages. The plans include building such modern educational institutions in the cities of Kulsary and Makat. All conditions must be created for children to receive a quality education. These schools are equipped with modern technologies and have all the necessary equipment. In addition, a positive expert opinion was received for the construction of an extension for 250 places to Primary School No. 2 in the village of Makat with the sponsorship of the company "NCOC". It is expected that construction will begin next year,” S. Shapkenov said.

An issue often raised by Makat residents is the construction of bus stops. Next year, 54 stops are planned to be built.

Due to changes in the design and estimate documentation for the major repairs of the railway platform in the village of Dossor, construction work was postponed until next year. Serik Shapkenov instructed the district akim to keep this issue under strict control.

Residents of Makat also raised other issues - employment, housing and clean drinking water.

The head of the region said that the problems raised at the meeting will be resolved in stages and within the framework of the law. Later, he received citizens on personal matters and answered their questions together with competent specialists. The meeting of the regional akim with residents of the Makat district was broadcast live on the official pages of the district akimat on the social networks Facebook and Instagram.

After the meeting, Serik Shapkenov got acquainted with the state of social facilities.

First, he visited a 60-apartment three-story building being built in the village of Makat. The work is 60% complete. Serik Shapkenov instructed the responsible bodies to amend the design and estimate documentation and speed up the work on the infrastructure.

Then he got acquainted with the state of the building of the district defense department, which needs major repairs. The facility, built in 1974, has not been previously repaired, and the roof leaks during precipitation. The heating boiler is also outdated. Serik Shapkenov noted that the facility needs major repairs or a new standard building needs to be built.

During the trip, the head of the region visited the empty old building of the akimat, which also needs repairs. Local authorities plan to make it a center for the provision of social services. As of today, a positive conclusion of the state examination has been received. The head of the region has instructed to speed up the tender procedures.
