On August 16 and 17, the media forum of the Caspian region countries was held in the city of Astrakhan, Russian Federation. The large-scale event, held for the ninth time, was attended by the Head of the Office of the Akim of the region Nurlybek Zhenisbekuly and representatives of the media industry, the Regional Communications Service reports.
Speaking at the event, Nurlybek Zhenisbekuly noted that the cultural dialogue at the forum is a means of expanding cooperation between the participating countries. In addition, he emphasized that trade, economic, cultural and social ties with fraternal countries are expanding.
“We are historically related countries. Today, this connection has new content within the framework of the EAEU, CIS and other international organizations. An important part of the dialogue between fraternal countries has a significant impact on the formation of public opinion and the maintenance of relations between countries. Traditions and cultural values are the core of all human relations. Therefore, we must bring the cultural dialogue to a new level in information ideology. The media forum, which is taking place in the Astrakhan region, will contribute to improving our common spiritual positions. I think it will play an even more significant role in making us appreciate our cultural heritage, the spiritual values of the Golden Horde, the Great Turan. I am sure that at today's forum we will learn a lot of new important information, and experts will exchange experiences. All this will give a new impetus to the development of the media. In our time, it is important to combat unreliable sources and maintain cybersecurity,” N. Zhenisbekuly said.
The number of forum participants increases every year. This time, more than a thousand representatives of the Caspian states (Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan) and foreign media were present.
The program of the Caspian Media Forum includes a meeting of the heads of delegations, a plenary session, discussion platforms, a master class and a journalist competition "The Caspian without Borders". At the forum, experts from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Gagauzia (Moldova) discussed a wide range of issues of information cooperation.
