Over 500 tons of garbage were removed as part of sanitary cleaning of Atyrau city

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov on issues of improvement and sanitary cleaning of the region, the press service of the regional akim reports.

At the meeting, the head of the regional department of natural resources and environmental regulation, Nurlan Zhantokov, focused on the events held as part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign.

“More than 22.5 thousand people took part in the cleanup work that took place in the region, and 386 vehicles were mobilized. As a result, 547 tons of waste were removed to the landfill. However, sanitary cleaning in the Zhylyoy district is not carried out at the proper level, which causes dissatisfaction among residents. Also, according to the Regional Plan for Greening Settlements in the Region, this year it was planned to plant 117 thousand trees on 59 hectares. Of these, 10,993 seedlings were planted on 15 hectares. This work was not carried out in the Zhylyoi and Indersky districts; it is necessary to strengthen control in this direction,” N. Zhantokov said.

According to the Head of the Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, Aidulat Kenzhebekov, the work of those responsible for the sanitary cleanliness of the territories adjacent to city institutions has not yet been systematized.

“Institutions responsible for the sanitary cleanliness of the city of Atyrau and suburban settlements have been identified, but they should intensify their work. In addition, it is necessary to organize monitoring of updating road signs, pothole repairs of roads, and cleaning of adjacent areas of small and medium-sized businesses. There are a total of 8,628 garbage containers in the region. This year, funds have been allocated for the purchase of another 1,376, and this must be accelerated. Funds have also been allocated for work to improve the areas, the construction of sports training grounds, playgrounds, and recreation parks is underway,” A. Kenzhebekov said.

The head of the region noted the lack of systematic work by the akims of the city of Atyrau and the Zhylyoy district and gave a number of instructions.

“This year, rules for the improvement of the territories of cities and towns were approved, where priority was given to the improvement and maintenance of infrastructure facilities. It is necessary to intensify efforts to clarify these rules among residents and business entities. Every citizen should know the rules of landscaping. Particular attention should be paid to children's playgrounds and recreational areas for citizens. Due to the hot weather, it is necessary to put fountains, squares and squares in order, to involve akims of rural districts in this work, everyone must maintain order and keep their territory clean. Special attention should be paid to preventive work among the population. It’s clean not where they clean, but where they don’t litter. It is necessary to identify and bring to justice violators,” S. Shapkenov said.

Summing up the meeting, the akimof the region instructed the responsible managers to approve the action plan for sanitary cleaning and improvement. In addition, inspect playgrounds, public places, fountains and, if defects are found, correct them immediately. The head of the region instructed the chief of staff to appoint a coordinator for sanitary cleaning and develop regulations.
