Zhasulan Bissembiyev, on behalf of the akim of the region, congratulated the participants on the opening of the conference and noted that Kurmangazy’s works will live for centuries.

“Great people are always respected and revered by our society. Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev is a significant personality for the entire Kazakh people. The accents of Kurmangazy's tunes are consonant with the powerful verses of Makhambet, who are looking for their sky, their height. They awaken the listener, lead them on a fiery journey, into sunny days. In the homeland of Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev there were many students who brought to us his rich creative heritage. They also became famous kuishi and will not be forgotten by the people. Events dedicated to honoring and perpetuating the name of the great kuishi always find support from the state. A clear proof of this work is the republican scientific and practical conference organized today, which brought together scientists from different regions of the country. “I wish all participants of the event fruitful work,” Zh. Bissembiyev noted.

The main goal of the republican conference is to reveal the unique significance and nature of historical, ethnographic, archaeological research, history and traditions of the singing art of the Western region of the 19th-20th centuries.

Scientists at the conference discussed the uniqueness of Kurmangazy as a historical figure, his creativity and contribution to the formation and development of national musical culture.

The guests got acquainted with the exhibition on the topic “History and culture of Atyrau in the 19th-20th centuries” by the fund of the Atyrau Regional History Museum. Research, photographic documents received from Kurmangazy’s descendants, and works by local artists about the life and work of the great kuishi composer were presented here.

It is worth noting that the materials presented during the conference will be published in the form of a collection.
