This was announced at the meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov in his report on the progress of the harvesting campaign and fodder.
According to the head of the region, if 600.2 thousand tons of fodder are needed for the wintering of livestock, then 80% of them are harvested in the region, 20% - from neighboring regions. To date, 61% of feed has been harvested.
“705 tractors, 1341 mowers, 630 pieces of equipment for transportation are involved in forage harvesting. Subsidies in the amount of 1.9 billion tenge were allocated from the local budget to cover the cost of fodder procurement for farms, and the amount of subsidies doubled in three years. In addition, if the need of farms for fodder bran is 41 thousand tons, then today 45% is ready. In order to stabilize feed prices, 1.2 thousand tons of fodder bran were harvested at the expense of feed producers and sales were organized at 60-65 tenge per 1 kg. Through the private sector, 34 operators are engaged in the delivery of feed to farms and sell them at 90-100 tenge per kilogram,” S. Shapkenov said.
It should be noted that out of 3.2 million hectares of agricultural land, 50.5 thousand hectares are pastures. Of the 4,017 ha of irrigated fodder land, 49 percent are cultivated by sprinkling. As a result of these works, efficient use of water and a multiple increase in product productivity are achieved.
