Today, Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov took part in the solemn event "Kulaktan Unin Ketpestey, Syngyrla, Songy Konyrau", held in the Y. Gagarin Secondary School No. 4 of the city.

The head of the region congratulated all schoolchildren on the end of the school year, which this year coincided with International Children's Day, and wished the graduates success in their new stage of life. Today in this school the last bell rang for 45 graduates.

“Dear teachers! Your contribution to the education and upbringing of the younger generation is enormous. We bow our heads before your work. Teachers not only educate, they guide, support and accompany children throughout their school life. I want to wish you many gifted students. Dear parents! Let the children justify your hopes, great achievements and success in life. Dear graduates! Today is a historic day for you. You enter a new big life and say goodbye to childhood, to school. I wish you to successfully pass the UNT and get the profession you dream of,” S. Shapkenov said.

During the event, the akim of the region inspected Y. Gagarin school No. 4. The educational facility includes two buildings, one of which - for primary classes - was put into operation in 1961, a building for middle and senior classes - in 1971. The educational facility is currently in need of a major overhaul. Now 1,579 schoolchildren are studying here, 109 children are in preschool training groups.

Serik Shapkenov noted that the material and technical base of the educational institution will be improved, all the necessary conditions will be created for children to receive a quality education. Today, the design and estimate documentation for the overhaul of this school has been sent for state expertise. Repair work is expected to begin next year.

For reference: in the 2022-2023 academic year, 141,228 schoolchildren studied at 211 educational facilities in the region. This year, 5,683 graduates graduated from the school. Of these, 167 are applicants for the Altyn Belgi badge and 247 for special certificates.
