Altay Kulginov got acquainted with construction of visitor center in Atyrau region

Deputy Prime Minister Altay Kulginov, as part of a working trip to the Atyrau region, got acquainted with the construction of a visitor center in the village of Saraishyk, Makhambet district.

In the near future, a complex for a comfortable stay of tourists and visitors will be opened on the territory of the Saraishyk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve. It includes exposition and exhibition halls, a depository, a conference room, as well as laboratory and restoration rooms, a library with an electronic database. It also housed a platform for lectures, an open-air museum and an ethnic village.

The large trading city of Saraishyk was destroyed in 1580. 300 years before that, it was one of the centers of the Great Silk Road.

“There are many sacred and historical places in Kazakhstan that can tell about the past of our country. Great interest in them is experienced not only by our fellow citizens, but also by foreign tourists. However, often these monuments of history and archeology do not have a tourist infrastructure. The visitor center, which will be opened one of these days on the territory of ancient Sarayshyk, will draw attention to the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country, activate inbound and domestic tourism,” Altay Kulginov noted.
