Additional 680 tons of sugar planned to be delivered to Atyrau region in next month

This was reported by the regional Department of Entrepreneurship and Tourism. According to the Head of the Department, Nurdaulet Zhumasitov, negotiations were held between the Kazakh sugar producer in Almaty, Koksu Sugar Plant LLP and JSC NC Food Corporation.

“From May to June, these companies supplied more than 1,200 tons of sugar. Currently, due to the reduction of stocks, work is underway to conclude contracts for the purchase of 680 tons for the coming month. According to the plan, the supply of sugar to the region is expected in July. Today, sugar is sold in supermarkets at prices ranging from 495 to 527 tenge,” Nurdaulet Zhumasitov said.

According to him, entrepreneurs cannot add a surcharge on the wholesale price of socially important goods by more than 15 percent. In case of fixing such a fact, an administrative fine is imposed.

“If the buyer finds an unreasonable increase in prices for sugar or other socially significant food products, he has the right to return the check and apply to the city or district akimat. In this case, the entrepreneur under paragraph 4 of Art. 204 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a warning will be issued, and in case of repeated violation, a fine in the amount of 30,000 to 900,000 tenge,” Nurdaulet Zhumasitov said.

According to him, today there are six complaints in the region against entrepreneurs who unreasonably inflate prices.

“All these facts have been taken into account, an audit has been carried out in relation to one business entity. For the remaining five applications, a decision is being prepared for verification. In addition, representatives of the akimat noted that only in the event of complaints from residents, it is possible to conduct an inspection and take appropriate measures,” N. Zhumasitov noted.
