In Atyrau, work is planned to clear canals

At the meeting, chaired by the Deputy Akim of the region Kairat Nurlybayev, the issue of preventing the mass death of fish in water bodies was discussed, the Regional Communication Service of the Atyrau region reports.

Last year, 12 tons of fish died in the region, and this year, thanks to preventive measures, such losses amounted to 572 kilograms. Including 65 kilograms in the Bezymyannyi lake and 507 kilograms in the Almagambet lake. The main reason is that the garbage that has been accumulating for years on dry canals prevents the free passage of fish.

"The other day, due to the rise in the level of the Ural River, water arrived in dry canals. This, of course, pleases. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that in this situation the risk of fish death is high. It is necessary to organize the relevant work according to the approved action plan. If these instructions are not executed properly, I propose to consider the issue of responsibility of officials, in accordance with the requirements of central state bodies," Artur Sadibekuly, Head of the Fisheries Department said.

For your information, there are 200 reservoirs in the Atyrau region, of which 70 are classified as dangerous. 80% of reservoirs do not have special documents. Their absence impedes the performance of the necessary work in cases of any natural disasters, other cataclysms in such reservoirs. Therefore, the Deputy Akim of the region, Kairat Nurlybaev, instructed the Head of the Department, as well as the deputies of akims of the city of Atyrau and districts, to fully prepare the documents before August 1.

"Akims of the city of Atyrau and districts should instruct the akims of rural districts to clear the riverbed, basin of water bodies from plants, debris, trees and control their implementation. If necessary, in accordance with the current legislation and with the permission of the authorized bodies, it is necessary to carry out work to clear the canals," the Deputy Akim of the region Kairat Nurlybayev said.
