The North Caspian Regional Exhibition "Atyrau Oil and Gas" has opened

"Akim of Atyrau region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov took part in the grand opening of the 19th regional exhibition "Atyrau Oil and Gas"," the Press Service of the akim of the region reports.

He congratulated the participants of the large-scale industry event, which resumed its work in a few years, and wished them success.

"After a long break due to the coronavirus pandemic, one of the most important events in the oil and gas industry is resuming its work. The exhibition has become an effective platform for direct dialogue between representatives of oil companies and other companies. There are great opportunities here to get acquainted with new equipment, services and technologies of the oil and gas industry. The presence of a resource base makes the region an ideal place for the national oil and gas cluster, which gives a powerful impetus to the development of such industries as petrochemistry, energy, the construction industry and others," Makhambet Dosmukhambetov said, noting that Atyrau region is the leader among the regions of the country in attracting investment, and about 55% of oil produced in Kazakhstan comes from Atyrau.

After viewing the exhibition together with other participants of the event, the head of the region took part in the plenary session on the development of the oil and gas industry on the topic "New Direction - New Technologies".

Welcoming the participants of the planar meeting, Akim of the region M. Dosmukhambetov said: “President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue work on diversifying the economy, increasing the range of manufactured goods, and expanding the geography of exports. Therefore, we prioritize the development of products with a high degree of processing and the manufacturing industry. For example, the Atyrau oil refinery already today produces about 20 types of products through deep processing of raw materials. Based on oil and gas production, we will intensively develop the high-tech industry of oil and gas chemistry.”

Also, the head of the region noted the great prospects for the oil and gas industry, its importance in the country's economy in the coming years, while emphasizing the special role of the Atyrau region. According to him, in the future, with the launch of the Future Growth Project at the Tengiz field and an increase in production at Kashagan, the share of the Atyrau region in the oil production of the republic will reach 65%.

Murat Zhurebekov, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ilyas Ospanov, Chairman of the Industrial Development Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olivier Lazar, Managing Director of NCOC, Marat Karimov, General Director of the International Oil and Gas Engineering Development Center IMB Center, also spoke at the plenary session.

Murat Zhurebekov, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that such investment projects as the construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 1 billion m³ of gas per year, the modernization of gas re-injection compressors and others are being implemented within the framework of the North Caspian project.

And the chairman of the industrial development committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ilyas Ospanov, informed about measures to improve work in this area.

Then the head of the region, Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, visited the exhibition of local producers "Made in Atyrau" organized by the regional akimat at the Exhibition Center and talked with its participants. More than 130 manufacturing enterprises and individual entrepreneurs of the region, including villages and districts, exhibited their products here. After that, the regional akim took part in the forum "Development of Local Content", noting the importance of supporting local producers. During the forum, a number of local producers and large companies signed memorandums of cooperation. Along with this, in order to broadly explain the measures of state support for entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Atyrau Region, ESF "Damu", the Agricultural Support Fund and JSC "SEC Atyrau" organized a special corner, consulting interested parties.

For your information, about 70 companies from Turkey, the USA, the Netherlands, Russia, Belarus, as well as Kazakh companies take part in the work of the regional exhibition "Atyrau Oil and Gas". Thematic seminars, bilateral meetings and other events will be held within the framework of the three-day exhibition.
