The head of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov took part in the opening ceremony of "Bozdagyn kutken – Ana" in the village of Makat, the Press Service of the akim of the region said.

The precondition for the creation of this monument was the biography of Sandi Dengelbaykyzy, who for 30 years, until her last breath, had been waiting for her only son from the Great Patriotic War.

"There is no future without the past. Therefore, the opening today in the village of Makat of the monument "Bozdagyn kutken – Ana".

The monument dedicated to the inextinguishable spirit of the mother, who, without losing her bright hope, waited all her life for her only son who did not return from the front, is at the same time a tribute of deep respect to all mothers, their great heart, unbending will, and fortitude," M. Dosmukhambetov said.

It is symbolic that the 4-meter monument, built with sponsorship funds, is installed in front of the Makat railway station. Supported by the unquenchable hope for the return of her son, the mother until the end of her days came here, peering at the passing trains.
