PANDEMIA: 643 THOUSAND PCR TESTS WERE CONDUCTED IN ATYRAU REGION

“There are 12 PCR laboratories in the region capable of conducting about 7 thousand tests per day,” the Press Service of the Directorate of Healthcare of Atyrau region said.

According to the Head of the Department for the Development of Public Health and Monitoring of State Programs of Directorate of Healthcare of the region, Yermek Shmaliyev, since the beginning of the pandemic, 643 thousand PCR tests have been carried out in the region. For comparison, the population of the region is 655,957 people.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, 643 thousand PCR tests have been carried out in the region, which is the highest per capita indicator in the country. The average daily rate in January was 3856 tests. The number of PCR tests conducted in the region in January 2021 increased by 29% compared to December last year,” Yermek Shmaliyev said.
