Volunteers were awarded in Atyrau
Today, at the official closing ceremony of the Year of the Volunteer, held in an online format with the participation of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a group of Atyrau volunteers were awarded honorary awards, the Communications Service of Atyrau region reports.
The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, positively noted the work done by the volunteers since the beginning of the year and thanked everyone for their active participation.
Bekasyl Samigolla, head of the corpus of young volunteers "AVK" Atyrau, spoke to the head of state on behalf of the Atyrau volunteers.
“Since the age of 14, "volunteering" has become an important part of my life. Today we have created a large organization that has brought together about 200 volunteers. Our organization allowed almost 50 teenagers in the city to learn English for free. We are still ready to do a lot to improve the lives of the people. Despite the fact that the Year of Volunteer has officially ended, we promise not to stop the development of volunteering. Because we are one,” Bekasyl Samigolla said.
After the congratulatory speech of the President, the Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva presented honorary awards in the online format. Almagul Shakimova was awarded in the nomination "Leader of corporate volunteering", in the nomination "For contribution to the preservation and protection of the environment" - Arman Khairullin, in the nomination "For contribution to solving social problems" - Gulnaz Kosmurzieva, in the nomination "Patron of the Year" - Marat Umirzakov, North Caspian Operating Company N.V. was recognized as the "Best Organization of the Year".
After the meeting, which took place online, the head of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov thanked the volunteers who provided all possible assistance and worked in all areas during the pandemic.
"In difficult times during a pandemic, our volunteers worked hard in the field of healthcare, social, civil protection. Someone with their own hands, literally, saved people's lives, someone raised funds and helped those in need. There are people among you who have promoted a rich historical heritage and taught the language. A number of citizens delivered food, medicines, sewed masks, landscaped the city and took care of the world around them. With your actions, with generous hearts, you responded to the accomplishment of a good deed and received gratitude from the people," the head of the region said.
Makhambet Dosmukhambetov also noted that the volunteers diligently carry out fundamental work in the socio-political life of the country.
"As the head of state said, "Unity is our main wealth," unity and harmony give strength to our society. As a result, together we are overcoming the difficulties that arise, showing great humanity, patience, and integrity in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. I would like to emphasize once again that enduring hardships and hardships with patience, with spiritual efforts is a clear sign of solidarity and unity. On behalf of all Atyrau residents, I express my gratitude for the help and care of those who need help. In his speech, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted: "The energy of volunteers should inspire every citizen. This is, first of all, a sign of a civilized country and responsibility. Volunteering should become our tradition. "I express my gratitude to you, I wish you success and prosperity," the head of the region Makhambet Do-smukhambetov said.
At the end of the event, the regional akim presented the medal "Khalyk Algysy" to a group of volunteers who are the keepers of good deeds, and also awarded the diploma "Volunteer of the Year - 2020".
