For the sixth year in a row, the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund, as part of active outreach to the population aimed at increasing financial literacy, as well as awareness of the services of the UAPF, the pension system and changes in pension legislation, conducts a course in the school of financial journalism.
Lectures on financial literacy have already become a good tradition, and despite the coronavirus pandemic, they continue to educate media representatives, but in an online format. The main target audience of the school are journalists, bloggers and journalism students, because they play a key role in informing the population.
The event took place in the virtual space. School participants received a lot of useful information and received answers to their questions. In just two days, the school gathered about 100 participants in Kazakh and Russian.
The course program for participants included training modules on various topics:
- the pension system of Kazakhstan and the activities of UAPF JSC;
- demographic trends and the need for a funded component;
- changes in the pension legislation regarding the use of lump-sum pension payments (LPP) and the transfer of pension savings to trust management (IPM);
- changes in terms of voluntary pension contributions (VPC);
- pension provision in the countries (EAEU);
- UAPF digital services;
- informational work of UAPF.
In addition, together with the National Bank of Kazakhstan, a module on the Management of NBK Pension Assets was presented.
Recall that this year there have been large-scale changes in the funded pension system, and UAPF specialists during the training helped school participants to understand complex financial indicators and statistics, legislative changes and much more. Let's hope that the completed training will help in creating bright and reliable journalistic materials, as well as in the information and explanatory work of the Foundation.
