Since 1998, a mixed pension system has been operating in the Republic of Kazakhstan: the state one, which consists of a basic and solidarity pension, and a funded one. Perhaps, in your case, we are talking about a solidarity pension, in which the size of pension payments is determined by the length of service, and the state budget becomes the source of pension payments through tax deductions from the working part of the population and other revenues. It can be counted on by those whose seniority at the time of retirement as of January 1, 1998, is at least six months.
The accumulative system provides for a fixed 10 percent amount of mandatory pension contributions from monthly income for citizens of Kazakhstan, foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Kazakhstan and a 5 percent amount of mandatory professional pension contributions at the expense of the employer from the monthly income of employees and in favor of employees, professions which are provided for by the list of industries, works and professions, determined by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
