A training course on organizing the management of a physical protection system was held in Almaty

Within the framework of the Joint Threat Reduction program, the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense, with the participation of the Atomic Supervision and Control Committee of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy (hereinafter referred to as the Committee), held a training course in Almaty on December 8-19 this year on the basis of the Nuclear Safety Training Center at the Institute of Nuclear Physics the course «Organization of physical protection system management».

The training course was attended by officials whose duties include ensuring nuclear physical safety and protection of nuclear installations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of this course was to increase the level of professional training of specialists in the field of nuclear physical safety, design and configuration management of physical protection systems, as well as to improve knowledge and skills in organizing and managing the physical protection system of nuclear installations.

The training was attended by specialists from government agencies and organizations, namely:

1. Committee;
2. National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3. RSE on REM «National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan» Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy;
4. RSE on REM «Institute of Nuclear Physics» Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy;
5. JSC «Ulba Metallurgical Plant»;
6. Ulba TVS LLP;
7. Mangystau Nuclear Power Plant LLP;
8. Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants LLP.

According to the results of the event, participants were provided with an international certificate confirming the completion of the above-mentioned training course.
