Deputy Akim of Astana, Yevgeniy Glotov, visited the Social Innovation Hub - an important platform aimed at promoting social entrepreneurship. The hub brings together social entrepreneurs, representatives of government agencies, and public figures, creating favorable conditions for the development of joint projects.
The Social Innovation Hub was established by the Kazakhstan Association of Social Innovators with the support of the Akimat of Astana. Here, entrepreneurs can participate in various training programs, receive mentorship, and launch their social initiatives.
The hub also features a concept store showcasing products of social entrepreneurs, as well as a Barista School and a social café where people with hearing impairments are trained and employed. Currently, 268 social entrepreneurs operate in Astana. With the support of the Akimat, 58 non-repayable state grants have been issued, and an additional 24 grants are planned for this year.
The Social Innovation Hub is a vivid example of a systemic approach to developing the social economy and supporting initiatives that benefit society. We were very interested to learn about the hub’s operations and were pleased to see the tangible results it has already achieved.
