ASPR RK and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank discussed areas for cooperation

Today, the Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms, Zhandos Shaimardanov met with the Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Konstantin Limitovsky. The meeting focused on discussing promising areas of cooperation with Kazakhstan.

The head of the Agency Zhandos Shaimardanov introduced the Bank’s representatives to the agency's activities, outlining the socio-economic reforms being implemented in the country, as well as the strategic planning documents such as the National Development Plan until 2029 and the Decree "On Measures to Liberalize Economy"

According to the ASPR Chairman, the NDP until 2029 places special emphasis on infrastructure development. "In particular, priorities are set to strengthen Kazakhstan's position as a major regional trade and logistics hub, further develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and scale the North-South corridor. This will contribute to increasing the transport and logistics share in the economy but at the same time will require expansion and modernization of infrastructure, as well as cross-country cooperation," said Zhandos Shaimardanov.

In turn, Konstantin Limitovsky spoke about AIIB's projects in Kazakhstan and other Asian countries.

"We are currently in the process of developing a new investment program for Kazakhstan and exploring potential opportunities in infrastructure sectors across the country" - he noted.

In conclusion, both parties agreed to continue their collaboration and partnership.
