The head of state was presented with projects on the digital transformation of national statistics

Today, at the international Digital Bridge forum, Zhandos Shaimardanov briefed the Head of State on the digital transformation of the Bureau of National Statistics under the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Opening the forum, the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, instructed the transformation of the Bureau of National Statistics into a digital agency. "It is necessary to take comprehensive measures to organize statistical, administrative, and alternative data, including the development of management policies and the definition of target data architecture," noted the President.

Presenting the projects at the exhibition during the Digital Bridge forum, the Chairman of ASPR highlighted that the transformation of national statistics consists of three main directions, including changes in legislation, the use of alternative data sources, strengthening analytical capabilities, and improving data accessibility. The portfolio of statistical reform activities includes 67 projects outlined in the Concept of Development of State Statistics and the National Data Ecosystem adopted last year.

For example, to improve the quality of inflation data, the Bureau of National Statistics launched a mobile application for price collection. Additionally, a mechanism for obtaining data from fiscal operators as an alternative source for calculating the consumer price index has been developed in collaboration with government agencies.

Note: This year, Digital Bridge gathered more than 20,000 participants, representatives of over 300 IT companies, and delegations from 30 countries.
