The Head of the Presidential Administration introduced the new Chairman to the team of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms

By the President's decree, Zhandos Shaimardanov was appointed as the Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Introducing the new head of the agency, Olzhas Bektenov, Head of the Presidential Administration, noted that Zhandos Shaimardanov is an experienced leader who has effectively worked in various managerial positions in the public sector and quasi-governmental companies.

Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms (ASPR) has important tasks ahead, as outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Specifically, the agency is tasked with focusing on updating the "Vision: Kazakhstan 2050" strategy, transforming it into a document that defines the country's long-term development priorities in line with global trends. Additionally, high-quality analytical and research work is required to develop the National Development Plan until 2029 and to assess the implementation of current state programs in various sectors.

Olzhas Bektenov drew attention to the fact that the strategic reforms of the agency should align with the objectives stated by the Head of the state in the Address. In particular, under the transition to a new economic model, the target indicators of programs developed by ASPR should not be abstract achievements but real improvements in citizens' lives. In developing strategic documents, the principles of the country's new economic course—justice, inclusivity, and pragmatism—should be taken into account.

Within the framework of the new paradigm of economic development outlined in the Address, the agency's strategic developments should consider aspects of leveraging the country's competitive advantages and unlocking the potential of all key production factors—labor, capital, resources, and technology.

At the end of the meeting, Olzhas Bektenov wished success to the team of the Agency.
