ASPR Chairman and OECD Representatives discussed collaboration formats

Aset Irgaliyev, Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan (ASPR), met with William Thompson, Head of the Eurasia Division at the OECD Global Relations Secretariat, and Gregory Lecomte, Head of the Central Asia Division.

During the meeting, the participants discussed cooperation in research and analytical work for the development of a national reform report. They also discussed the Action Plan for 2022-2025 and the monitoring procedure for the accession of member countries to the OECD.

Aset Irgaliyev emphasized that this year the Agency will present its first National Reform Report, which will provide a comprehensive overview and logic of political and economic reforms in Kazakhstan.

In turn, William Thompson provided an update on the implementation of cooperation within the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government and the OECD until 2026, as well as the Action Plan for 2022-2025, which identifies priority areas aimed at implementing OECD standards.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further collaboration.
