Held for the first time: the acceptance of applications for the Qazdatathon competition has started

The Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Center for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has started accepting applications for the "Qazdatathon" competition.

The purpose of the competition is to enable young scientists to develop an accurate model of solutions using synthetic data that does not contain personal data.

During the competition, participants will be provided with synthetic (artificial) data created on the basis of these data. This will open up the possibility of mass use of microdata without violating the privacy policy.

Who can take part in the competition?

Teams consisting of students (2-5 people) in the master's and doctoral programs of universities are allowed to participate. Teams can consist of statisticians, economists, data scientist, mathematicians and other specialists in this field. It is also possible to participate several teams from the same university.

The term of the competition

The competition consists of three stages. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until November 15.

The winners of the competition will be awarded valuable prizes, and will also have the opportunity to undergo an internship in the structure of the organizers, the implementation of the project on the basis of actual data.
