A regular meeting of the Public Council of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan (ASPR) was held in Astana.
The meeting discussed the results of the work of the government agency 9 months of 2022, the monitoring of the documents of the SRS and the preliminary results of the national census. The Chairman of the Agency Aset Irgaliyev, who made a report on the activities of ASPR, told the members of the council about the priorities of the state institute.
The Agency is working on the formation of a system for monitoring reforms. This takes into account the extensive experience in analyzing institutional reforms in the countries of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the best practices of the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). "For the first time in the history of the country, we will publish a National report on reforms according to the OECD methodology" - A. Irgaliyev said.
The Chairman also noted that the implementation of any reforms requires a lot of analytical work, and therefore, for the first time in post-Soviet countries, together with Harvard Kennedy School, a project was launched to attract undergraduates to the Agency's expert work. Work in this direction will continue.
The head of the National Bureau of Statistics within the Agency Zhandos Shaimardanov reported on the preliminary results of the national census of 2021. The full results of the census will be published in accordance with the plan in the first quarter of next year. Also, the Agency's department is working to improve statistical data. The availability of objective statistical data is very important for both government agencies and citizens.
In addition, the members of the council shared their suggestions and opinions on the ongoing work and received answers to their questions.
