On the sidelines of the international forum “Digital Transformation of National Statistical Systems,” held to mark the 105th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s state statistics, two Memorandums of Understanding were signed aimed at strengthening international cooperation and enhancing national capacity in the areas of data, statistics, and strategic planning.
The documents were signed between the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), as well as between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The Memorandums reflect the shared commitment of Kazakhstan and international organizations to strengthening partnerships, exchanging experience, and advancing joint initiatives to improve the quality of public administration and the effectiveness of data-driven decision-making.
The signing of the Memorandum with UNFPA opens new opportunities in demographic analysis, forecasting, and the use of high-quality data for socio-economic development. The parties agreed to combine efforts to strengthen national capacity in demographic policy and to promote Kazakhstan’s leadership role in the exchange of experience and knowledge at the regional and international levels.
The Memorandum with the Asian Development Bank предусматривает cooperation under the Statistical Capacity Development Program, with a focus on the introduction of modern technologies, analytical tools, and advanced methodologies. Particular attention will be given to strengthening professional competencies, improving digital statistical solutions, and expanding knowledge exchange across the region.
The program will also support the promotion of innovation in national statistical activities and the enhancement of data quality for public authorities and society at large.
