A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Astana between the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD). The document establishes a framework for partnership aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth in Kazakhstan, strengthening financial stability, and improving public governance.
Under the Memorandum, the parties agreed to exchange statistical and analytical data, conduct joint research, organize training activities, and provide technical assistance. Particular attention will be given to reforms related to macroeconomic stability, financial market development, improvement of the investment climate, social sector development, industrial policy, and strengthening institutional effectiveness to enhance the country’s competitiveness and sustainable development.
“Kazakhstan is currently undergoing large-scale socio-economic and political reforms. In his Address to the Nation, the Head of State outlined new strategic development priorities, and the Agency is actively working on their implementation. Cooperation with international organizations and leading expert centers is an essential element of this process. I am confident that collaboration with the Fund will strengthen our analytical and expert capacity, and that our joint initiatives will deliver tangible benefits to the state and society,” – said ASPR Chairman Aset Irgaliyev.
EFSD Managing Director Andrey Shirokov thanked the Agency for the meeting and emphasized that it marks the beginning of systematic and long-term cooperation.
“Kazakhstan is a key partner of the Fund, and we see significant potential for effective collaboration. Our joint efforts will undoubtedly generate a synergistic effect and contribute to the achievement of shared priorities. The Fund is ready to provide practical input and comprehensive support to the Agency’s activities,” – he stated.
The Memorandum entered into force upon signing and will serve as the basis for future joint projects and initiatives.
