On February 28-29, 2024, a delegation led by the Chairperson of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, M.E. Abylkasymova, and the Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, T.M. Suleimenov, visited the People's Republic of China on a working visit.
Kazakhstan’s delegation held negotiations with financial market regulators, including the People's Bank of China and the National Administration of Financial Regulation of China, as well as with the China Banking Association and major banking institutions of the People's Republic of China.
Both parties agreed to facilitate cooperation between financial institutions of the two countries and create favorable conditions for expanding financial and banking cooperation. The key areas of interaction between the regulators will be outlined in a corresponding trilateral document, the signing of which is planned by the end of 2024.
Furthermore, important outcomes of the negotiations included agreements aimed at unlocking the existing potential, particularly in activating the involvement of banks with Chinese capital, including in corporate lending across key sectors of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
