The Eurasian Actuarial Congress was held in Almaty
On November 16, 2023, the Eurasian Actuarial Congress was successfully held in Almaty, held by the self–regulating organization of actuaries of Russia "Association of Professional Actuaries" with the participation of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (hereinafter - the Agency) and the public association "Society of Actuaries of Kazakhstan".
The Congress was opened with a welcoming speech by Asel Amirbayeva, Director of the Insurance Market and Actuarial Calculations Department of the Agency, who emphasized the high role of the actuary in the formation of a stable financial, including insurance system.
"Actuarial activity is one of the fundamental ones in the insurance sector, because actuaries are responsible for the financial stability and solvency of an insurance company, and bear a huge responsibility to policyholders and shareholders," she said in her speech

The Congress was attended by actuaries and other professionals from the financial and insurance market, pension funds, government and regulatory bodies, public associations of actuaries, consulting and auditing companies from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as from foreign countries.
Particular attention was paid to the discussion of topical issues and tasks in actuarial activities related to the practical experience of applying the International Financial Reporting Standard 17 "Insurance Contracts" and the European Solvency Standard of Insurance Organizations Solvency II.
Global trends in the profession of "actuary" were discussed. Programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other new technologies are already the norm for modern actuaries.
The Congress has become a platform for international exchange of experience, discussion of topical issues and identification of ways of communication between actuarial communities of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and other participating countries.
