The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market hosted a meeting between Chairperson Madina Abylkassymova and Samir Paul Kapur, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

The meeting focused on financial cooperation, the development of supervisory mechanisms, and cooperation between the Agency and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

As part of further expanding international cooperation, the Agency expressed its readiness to participate in the SEC’s technical assistance program for Central Asian countries. Potential areas of cooperation include enhancing supervisory mechanisms for securities market professionals, automating supervisory functions, implementing risk-based approaches, and further developing the framework for self-regulatory organisations (SROs).

The Agency will continue its engagement with U.S. financial regulators, with a particular focus on strengthening financial stability, enhancing supervision, and protecting the interests of financial market participants.
