About expansion of guarantees of the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund
On June 30, 2025 the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Development of the Financial Market, Protection of Rights of Consumers of Financial Services, Communications and Elimination of Excessive Legislative Regulation" (hereinafter the Law).
The Law provides for expansion of guarantees of the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund to all types of accumulative life insurance.
Accumulative life insurance products are financial instruments that combine insurance and investment. They make it possible to protect a person's life during the insurance period and at the same time save money, for example, for retirement, education or large purchases.
Today, guarantees of the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund apply to all types of compulsory insurance (except for imputed insurance), insurance contracts signed within the State Educational Accumulation System (SEAS) and pension annuity contracts.
Expansion of guarantees of the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund to all types of accumulative life insurance will help ensure safety of citizens' savings and increase their income.
The Law takes effect sixty calendar days after it is promulgated.
