Presentation of Kazakhstan Bond Market at the 43rd ASEAN+3 Bond Market Forum

The 43rd ASEAN+3 Bond Market Forum (ABMF; hereinafter – the Forum) takes place in Kyoto, Japan, from June 30 to July 4, 2025. It is organized within the ASEAN+3 initiative.

The Forum was established in May 2010 by finance ministers of the ASEAN countries, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea within the Asian Bond Markets Initiative.

Key objective of the Forum is to create conditions in the Asian region for creation of an integrated bond market, including mechanisms for issue of bonds in several currencies (ASEAN+3 Multi-Currency Bond Issuance Framework). The initiative allows for issue and placement of bonds simultaneously on several national markets of the countries participating in the initiative, such as China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia and others. In May 2025, the Republic of Kazakhstan received an observer status at the ABMF.

Within the event, representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange and the Central Depository presented the current state and development prospects of the bond market in Kazakhstan.
