There are 601 preschool organizations in Akmola region, attended by 38,623 children (435 - public, 166 - private; 272 - kindergartens, 329 - mini-centers). The coverage of children aged 2-6 years with preschool education and training is 94.4%.
Preschool education of children before admission to grade 1 is carried out in the family or from one year until admission to grade 1 in preschool organizations.
Age groups are formed in the preschool organization by the beginning of the school year, taking into account the age of children who have reached full years for the calendar year: preschool group, preschool class of school (lyceum, gymnasium) - children aged 5 years. When issuing referrals to a preschool organization, the age of children is taken into account when they reach full years by the end of the current year (except for children with disabilities in accordance with the relevant recommendations of the psychological, medical and pedagogical consultation).
Pre-school preparation is mandatory and is carried out in the family, pre-school organizations, pre-school classes of comprehensive schools, lyceums and gymnasiums. Pre-school preparation in state educational organizations is free.
To equalize the initial opportunities of future first-graders during the summer holidays in the region before the start of the school year, short-term pre-school preparation courses "Bilimge Kumar" are organized.
