There are 190 registered religious associations (hereinafter RO) in the region: 89 of the Islamic faith, 45 of the Orthodox, 11 of the Catholic, 43 of the Protestant, 1 of the Bahá'í religion, and 1 of the Krishna Consciousness Society of Akmola region.
In addition, there are 10 communities of Evangelical Christian Baptists that refuse state registration (in the cities of Kokshetau, Stepnogorsk, Makinsk, Bulandynsky District, Esil, Esilsky District, Shchuchinsk and Burabay, Burabaysky District, Zaporozhye villages, Zhaksynsky District, Sergeevka, Atbasarsky district, Astrakhanka, Astrakhan district, Balkashino, Sandyktau district).
There are 150 religious objects, including 89 mosques, 28 Orthodox churches, 11 Catholic churches, 22 Protestant houses of prayer.
There are 75 missionaries in the Akmola region. Among them: 21 people are citizens of Poland, 6 are Philippines, 5 are Russia, 43 are citizens of Kazakhstan.
29 missionaries preach Catholicism, 32 missionaries - Orthodoxy, 2 missionaries - Islam, 12 missionaries - Protestantism.
Since the beginning of the year, 6 certificates of registration (re-registration) of missionaries have been issued.
There are no facts of violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan by foreign citizens, no cases of reduction of the period of stay or expulsion of missionaries from the region have been recorded.
In order to clarify the basics of state-confessional relations, prevent religious extremism, increase the legal and religious literacy of the population in the region, a comprehensive information and explanatory work of 23 information and explanatory groups on religious issues (hereinafter IRG), consisting of 215 people, continues.
Since the beginning of the year, the IRG of the region has held 818 events, in which 20380 people took part.
The media of the Akmola region posted 1149 materials covering topics in the field of religious relations. Of these: 208 publications were posted in print media; regional television and regional television studios showed 37 TV pieces (plots, videos and TV programs); 904 information materials are posted on Internet resources.
The result of systematic outreach work is interfaith harmony, the absence of conflicts and contradictions on religious grounds. The religious situation in the region remains stable.
