The area of the state forest fund subordinated to the regional akimat is 405.1 thousand hectares, including 229.5 thousand hectares covered with forest. Under the operational management of natural resources and environmental management are 13 forestry institutions, which are concentrated in the administrative territories of 6 districts and 2 cities of the Akmola region. The staff of forestry workers is 516 people.
