Forestry
The area of the state forest fund subordinated to the regional akimat is 405.4 thousand hectares, including 224.9 thousand hectares covered with forest. Under the operational management of natural resources and environmental management are 13 forestry institutions, which are concentrated in the administrative territories of 6 districts and 2 cities of the Akmola region. The staff of forestry workers is 516 people.
Reforestation
This spring, the forestry institutions subordinated to the Department carried out afforestation work on an area of 1712 hectares with a plan of 1280 hectares.
In total, 11.2 million trees were planted during afforestation work, while the plan was 9.3 million trees, taking into account the addition.
In order to fulfill the plan for planting forests in the following years, forestry institutions carry out the following work:
- in 2021, we collected and harvested hardwood forest seeds (more than 11 tons), and pine cones (collected 185 tons). There are 7 cone dryers, which processed 185 tons of cones and received 1850 kg of pine seeds. In autumn, more than 8 tons of forest seeds were sown in nurseries.
- this spring, more than 1 ton of forest seeds were sown in nurseries on an area of 6 hectares (coniferous 383 kg, deciduous 766 kg)
- carry out the collection and harvesting of forest seeds (collection of elm seeds has begun),
- carry out the cultivation of planting material, watering and care work.
There are 11 forest nurseries (4 permanent and 7 temporary) in forestry institutions with a total area of 171 ha. In connection with the increase in the cultivation of planting material, design estimates have been developed for the construction of 2 new permanent forest nurseries with a total area of 86 hectares (61 hectares in the Zerenda district of the Bukpa forestry and 25 hectares in the Atbasar district of the Maralda forestry). In addition, forestry institutions have carried out work to expand and increase the area of temporary nurseries.
In 2021, at the expense of the regional budget, 20 units of tractors and 39 units of trailed, mounted and fire-fighting equipment were purchased for forestry institutions.
This year, an additional 317 million tenge was allocated from the regional budget. of which 167 million tenge for silvicultural work and 150 million tenge for equipping the material and technical base of forestry institutions.
Protection and protection of the forest
In order to carry out preventive measures to combat forest fires, the following work was carried out - 200 prescriptions were issued to agricultural formations, 3212 leaflets on the fire prevention theme were distributed, 204 lectures and seminars were held, articles were published in regional newspapers - 33, full houses on the fire prevention theme were installed 283 units .
In the current year, the maintenance of mineralized strips was carried out with a length of 7300 km with a plan of 10,300 km or 70%.
The arrangement of mineralized strips with a length of 1700 km was carried out, with a plan of 1,700 km or 100%.
