The area of the region is 146.2 thousand sq. km.
Population as of 01.07.2022 - 734.1 thousand people, of which 370.1 thousand people (50.4%) are urban.
The region consists of 17 districts, 3 cities of the regional
and 8 cities of regional significance. National composition: Kazakhs
- 52.8%, Russians - 31.9%, others - 15.3%.
During the period of implementation of the Industrialization Map (2010-2021), 112 projects were implemented for 428.8 billion tenge, 11 thousand jobs. Commissioning is scheduled for 2022 commissioning of 10 facilities for 160.6 billion tenge, with the creation 1854 new jobs, of which 1 project was put into operation for 27 billion tenge, 231 new jobs were created.
