Educational programs were held in Shymkent from November 7 to 10, 2024, within the framework of the IX International Theater Festival of Central Asian Countries, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This festival, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Shymkent City Kazakh Academic Theater named after Zhumat Shanin, is aimed at developing interethnic dialogue and strengthening cultural ties between Central Asian countries and Turkic-speaking states.

Olga Lutsiva, the chief director of the Akmola Regional Russian Drama Theater, took part in a master class on directing, which was conducted by Yuri Butusov, a well-known Russian director, winner of the national theater award "Golden Mask".

The educational programs also included master classes in stage speech from Aigul Naremgenova, a teacher at KazNAI named after T. Zhurgenov (Kazakhstan), and theater management from Buri Ganiev, director of the Tashkent State Musical Comedy (Operetta) Theater (Uzbekistan).

The festival has become a unique platform for professional exchange of experience and strengthening cooperation between theatrical figures from different countries.

From November 14th to 16th, our theater turned into a real platform for professional dialogue. Within the framework of the international forum-laboratory "Te-ART-KOKSHE: a new stage", the audience saw three of the best performances of our theater, each of which became an event that gathered full halls.

In three days, we presented productions that reflect the versatility of our repertoire and the skill of the creative team:

"The Cripple from Inishmaan Island" by M. McDonagh is a witty Irish comedy that immerses into the world of complex human relationships.

  1. Bogaev's "Poshta-Mail" is a touching fantasy about time, people and their dreams, told through the eyes of pensioner Ivan Zhukov.

"Wolves and Sheep" by A. N. Ostrovsky is a classic comedy that reveals the eternal questions of human nature in a new way.

Each of the performances was sold out, evoking vivid emotions and a sincere response from the audience. The audience gave a standing ovation, and theater experts and critics from Kazakhstan and Russia took part in the discussions after the performances. The experts highly appreciated the director's decisions, deep acting and the creative atmosphere that prevailed on stage.

But the forum laboratory is not just about performances. One of the key events was the panel discussion "New Management of modern Theater", which brought together theater experts, managers and critics. The participants discussed important issues: how can the theater adapt to modern challenges, which formats of interaction with the public are most relevant, and how joint projects and tours strengthen international cultural cooperation.

The final chord of the forum was the signing of a Memorandum of cooperation between our theater and the Novosibirsk Academic Drama Theater "Globus". This step opens up new prospects for exchange tours, joint projects and cultural dialogue between Kazakhstan and Russia.

On November 19 and 20, the North Kazakhstan Regional Puppet Theater arrived at the Akmola Regional Russian Drama Theater on tour. The guests from Petropavlovsk presented to our audience two wonderful productions — the touching story "Papa, my dear Papa" and the fairy tale "Silver Hoof".

The play "Papa, my dear Papa" is a touching story about love, care and family values. The production tells how important it is to take care of your loved ones and appreciate the time spent with your family. Children and adult viewers watched the development of the plot with genuine interest, imbued with the sincere emotions of the characters.

The fairy tale "Silver Hoof" gave the audience an atmosphere of real winter magic. The plot of this production is based on the work of Pavel Bazhov and tells about a wonderful kid who is able to create elegant silver horseshoes. The little viewers plunged into the fabulous world of goodness, miracles and faith in miracles, and their parents remembered their childhood with pleasure.

The tour has become a real holiday for the Akmola audience, especially for young viewers. Such tour exchanges strengthen cultural ties between the regions and allow the audience to get acquainted with a variety of theatrical traditions.

On November 23, the Akmola Regional Russian Drama Theater held a charity screening of the fairy tale "Passion-face or how Koshchei was covered with snow." The performance was attended by students of KSU "Special Boarding School No. 4 of the city of Kokshetau".

The show was organized as part of the month dedicated to the International Day of the Disabled. The school educates children with hearing and speech impairments from Kokshetau and Akmola region, including students with cochlear implants and special educational needs.

In November, 21 events were held in the Akmola Regional Philharmonic Hall, which were attended by 3,657 spectators, of which 2 tours with a total coverage of 850 people.
