Flood: 60 tons of humanitarian aid collected in Almaty region

A large entrepreneur of the Almaty region has allocated 30 million tenge to a special account as financial assistance, the press service of the Almaty region reports BAQ.KZ the correspondent.

More than 300 volunteers are involved in the Almaty region to provide assistance to the regions affected by the flood. Of these volunteers, 150 people were collecting humanitarian aid, and another 100 were sorting.

Since the first days of the campaign, more than 60 tons of humanitarian aid have been collected, including basic necessities, food, clothing, bed linen and household appliances. Financial support undoubtedly also plays a crucial role in the success of such events. A large entrepreneur of the region allocated 30 million tenge to a single special account as financial assistance. This is a vivid example of how the business community can contribute to the common good. However, humanitarian assistance cannot be provided without the support of society. Volunteers, entrepreneurs, representatives of ethnic and cultural associations, members of the Amanat party and residents of the region joined together in a common cause. Currently, volunteers of the "power in birilka" headquarters, created on the basis of the Regional Youth Resource Center, are shipping the collected aid and preparing wagons for shipment with the support of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy. In the near future, 60 tons of humanitarian aid will be delivered to residents of the West Kazakhstan region affected by the flood," says Madi Akhmetov, head of the Department for Youth Policy of the Almaty region.
