As is known, the nationwide initiative has been implemented in the republic since 2005. It is aimed not only at providing employment for students but also at tackling serious tasks in environmental protection, replenishing the country's green fund, and fostering patriotic youth education. By planting trees, building houses, and protecting forests from fires, young people demonstrate their commitment to their homeland.
As noted by Almaty region deputy akim Almas Batanov, over the past 20 years, the greening program has become a truly mass youth movement. Young people from all districts and cities of the region are joining the "green" movement. This season will take place as part of the "Taza Kazakhstan" environmental campaign, initiated by the Head of State.
"This places a great responsibility on the participants of the eco-movement," the speaker emphasized. "I hope that through your dedicated work, you will show a sense of belonging to the well-being of your native land. It is your active civic stance that will determine the future success of the country."
Meanwhile, environmentalist Aizhan Skakova noted that over the past six months, large-scale work on cleaning and improving territories, greening, and protecting the environment has been carried out in all regions of the republic. The President has tasked the Government with developing a Concept for the development of ecological culture among the population for the next five years. Kazakh citizens can take part in preparing the document and submit proposals to improve the ecology.
According to local authorities, about 1,000 people aged 14 to 35 will be involved in the seasonal work of the "Zhasyl El" movement this summer. Over the next few months, each young person engaged in improvement and greening projects will receive appropriate wages. In addition, participants in the labor semester can try their luck in a special prize draw by recording a video of their work and posting it on social media under the hashtag #Almobljasylel2024.
The rally participants, students Bekzat Ulan and Nazerke Zhumagul, who have worked in the "Zhasyl El" squads for several years, spoke about the tremendous effort it takes to maintain cleanliness. If a young person once tidied up the streets of their city or village, planted saplings in their yard, and took care of them, they would never litter, cut down trees, or harm nature.
"Zhasyl El" fighters have become more conscientious about the environment, says Bekzat Ulan. "It is necessary to involve the younger generation more widely, to unite determined and proactive boys and girls. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that our native land remains one of the cleanest and greenest regions of the country!"
After the ceremony, youth activists made their first work landing on the shore of the Kapshagay reservoir. After cleaning a large section of the beach from litter, the youth conducted awareness-raising activities among vacationers about cleanliness rules.
It is worth adding that since the beginning of the year, more than 600,000 residents of Almaty region have participated in the "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign. According to the organizers, 20,000 tons of garbage were collected, and more than 55,000 saplings of trees and shrubs were planted. Large-scale cleaning and greening of territories continue in all cities and villages of the region.
