Corn harvested exceeded for 580 thousand tons

The acreage of corn increased by 4.7 thousand hectares and amounted to 86,4 thousand hectares.

According to the department of agriculture, the region collected 581,3 thousand tons of corn with an average yield of 67,3 centners per hectare.

In General, 15 districts and 2 cities of the region are engaged in growing corn for grain in the region.

The Panfilov district received a harvest about  166,1 thousand tons. The Enbekshikazakh district was also received  178,9 thousand tons of  corn and were obtained 24,8 thousand hectares.

It is worth to mention, that two enterprises specialize in corn processing in the region they are “Zharkent plant” LLP in Panfilov district and “Asia agro Food” JSC in Karasay district.

The production capacity of the “Zharkent plant” is 300 tons of products per day. The company produces more than 20 types of starch products – maltose and glucose syrups, gluten, corn oil, bran, granulated feed.

Last year, the plant processed about 120 thousand tons of corn, and now the plant is actively working on processing  this year's crop. “Asia Agro Food” JSC is not far behind, with a production capacity of 200 tons of products per day. The company produces more than 10 types of various products. If last year the plant processed 50 thousand tons of corn, this year it is planned to process 70 thousand tons.
