Statistics is a field with a long history and experience. State statistics is -the collection and summarization of special statistics. The first official statistical organization in Kazakhstan was the Turkestan Provincial Statistical Committee, which established on January 22, 1868.For this organization statistical bureau in the regions Syrdarya and Zhetisu was subordinate. Later in our country appeared regional statistical committees like Oral, Semei , Akmola and Torgai , but until 1920 there was no single statistical organizations for integrating local activities. Kazakhstan's statistics are deeply rooted. There are statistical information about the first Kazakh state which historically confirmed: when they appeared over the rivers Shu and Talas (1459), their population was 200 hundreds people, and in the end of XV century their population was reached to 1 million people. In connection with the establishment of the Kazakh Autonomous Socialist Republic within the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (August 26, 1920), the Government of the Kazakh SSR approved the "Regulations on State Statistics of the Kazakh SSR" by its resolution in November 8, 1920 and established the Statistics Department of the Kazakh SSR. Thus, the date of establishment of the Unified Central Statistical Organization of Kazakhstan was adopted as November 8, 1920. From 1955 to 1965, specialists who collected and summarized statistical information were members of the district executive committee. From 1987 to October 2009 it was the head of the Zhambyl district department of statistics. It was established in November 2009 as the Department of Statistics of Zhambyl district of Almaty region. Nowadays, statistical work is carried out at the district level, many changes and transformations have taken place in our society, as well as in the field of statistics. Due to the economic transformation, the number of legal entities and individuals working has increased and special attention has been paid to the control over their activities. Due to the transition of the country to international standards, many types and methods of statistical control are used in the field of statistics. Department of Statistics of Zhambyl region in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan- "On State Statistics and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, "On approval of the rules and timing of national censuses" to consider the mobilization of all administrative-territorial units and departments in the census in preparation for the 2021 census - to include the interests of these structures in the action plan. In other words, each structure operates within its competence to analyze and compare the demographic, socio-economic development of the country by administrative-territorial units, to determine the quantitative and qualitative composition of the population and to make economic forecasts for the future. Statistical structures work in accordance with the approved plan of statistical regulations. Zhambyl district is located in the southwest of Almaty region, the center is Uzynagash village, founded in 1928 which covers an area of ​​19.3 thousand km2. Zhambyl region has 61 settlements, 24 rural district, the population is 170,400 people from October 1, 2020.

Head of the district Aliyev Bagdat Baishalovich always pays attention to the field of statistics, so the district department of statistics works together with the departments of various areas of the district. From 2015 to present, the Department of Statistics is headed by a qualified specialist  is Abdimoldayeva Gulnar Aliakbarovna, there are 5 civil servants, chief specialist  is Masabaeva Altynai Darkenbekovna, leading specialists are Kaparova Rabiga, Masgut Kumis, Zhunilbekova Asel Bakbergenovna, Nurmakhanov Zhandos Baimakhanovich , Rysmendy Aigerim Mukhtarovna. Daurembayeva Manatkul Ibraimovna is one of the veterans of statistics who worked for many years in the Department of Statistics of Zhambyl region, she worked in statistics for more than 37 years from 1975 to 2012. Arykbalaeva Botakoz Ashimovna, worked in the field of statistics for more than 10 years.
