Assignment or extension of the status of "Kandas"

Since January 2021, the term "oralman" has been officially replaced by "kandas"in Kazakhstan. You can also get this status through the PSC.
To do this, you need to have the following documents with you:
- a completed application (the form can be downloaded on Egov)
- an autobiography written in any form
- copies of documents certifying your identity and the identity of family members with a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian. - consent of the local executive body for the assignment of the status
- Two 3x4 photos for each of the family members
The status is assigned within 5 working days, if all the documents are in order. The validity period of the status is one year, after which it can either be extended or apply for citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For more information, you can also contact the call center 1414.
Kandases are ethnic Kazakhs who permanently lived abroad at the time of Kazakhstan's independence, who arrived in our country for permanent residence. Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, they need to get the status of "kandas".
