A new version of the transition of the state language from Cyrillic to Latin was discussed

A meeting was held in the Palace of Languages to discuss the project of an improved Kazakh alphabet based on the Latin alphabet.

The meeting was attended by Doctor of Philology, scientist-journalist Garifolla Anes, Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov Gulim Chukenaeva, Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer of the Department of  Kazakh Language and Literature of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov  Gulnar Syrlybaeva, employees of the Department of language development of Almaty region, teachers and methodologists of the educational and methodological center "Til" and its branches, and also teachers of the Kazakh language and literature of regional schools and media representatives.

The meeting was opened by the head of the Department for the Development of Languages of the Almaty Region, Bolat Kerimbek.

To explain the project of the improved Kazakh alphabet based on the Latin alphabet, 22 seminars were organized in the region, which were attended by 785 people.

During the meeting, the spelling rules of the Kazakh language were analyzed and the draft of the improved Kazakh alphabet based on the Latin alphabet was discussed.

Most participants noted that it was difficult to distinguish between the letters «Іі» and «Йй».

Also, the participants noted that the project of the improved Kazakh alphabet is convenient to use, as it is rational on the principle of one sound, one letter.
