WILDLIFE PROTECTION

The Department of natural resources and environmental management of the Almaty region annually develops a plan of joint measures to combat poaching and forest damage together with the territorial Inspectorate of forestry and wildlife and law enforcement agencies.

In 2019, the municipal state institution "Operational service for the protection of wildlife" conducted 58 raids and inspections together with state forestry institutions, the local police of the Almaty region's internal Affairs Department, as well as the regional territorial inspection of forestry and wildlife. As a result of joint RAID measures, 78 violations of environmental legislation were detected. Fines were imposed in the amount of 1300375 tenge, including 719625 tenge collected from 56 violators
